Janet Kranz, M.A.
Janet is a creative consulting professional with strong organizational and project management skills and over 25 years experience working closely with non-profits and the public sector. Focusing on the distinct, though often connected, specialties of project management and research, Janet helps clients investigate the underlying causes behind their social, community or fundraising challenges. She then works with you to develop solutions that secure your organization’s future funding base or increase your organizational and programming capacity.
Drawing on her extensive experience working with charities and governments, and on a previous career in film and television production, Janet combines creativity with investigation to deliver her services to you. Some highlights of her activities include a three year project to build comprehensive website for women in community economic development (CED), social enterprise and small business; a four year capacity building project for a national women’s organization; a five-year strategic fundraising plan for a large immigrant services organization; numerous successful major-gift solicitations to high-net worth individuals, strategies to integrate planned and major gift portfolios, public relations activities to promote new services and programs, organizing fundraising galas and various community presentations to support civic engagement, a report for government on immigrant youth in the justice system and another on apprenticeships and the skilled trades for an Ottawa community health centre. Janet is currently working with Women’s Economic Council (WEC) conducting research and helping to sustain WEC as a viable force improving the lives of vulnerable women in Canada. Janet is also delivering services to PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise, Thunder Bay and advising businesswomen starting and growing small businesses in Eastern Ontario.
